The final part of the Rocky story had Balboa making a come back as an older man, Adrian passed out, Rocky Jr. was grown up, and Rocky was eager to feel great once more. This movie made me kind of sad because it also allowed me to realize that I myself have gotten older, but thanks to great memorable quotes as always I felt stronger than ever after watching the full movie.

Duke: Gettin’ Stronger!

Mason “The line” Dixon: It’s already over.

• Rocky: There ain’t nothing over till it’s over.
• Dixon: Where’s that from, the 80’s?
• Rocky: That’s probably the 70’s.

Paulie: Who’s the criminal?

• Rocky Balboa: He’s a nice kid.
• Paulie: He dresses like a bum.
• Rocky: Oh, coming from a human hamper, that’s quite a compliment.

Rocky Balboa: (To Dixon) You’re a great champion, you got heart!

Duke: Let’s start building some hurting bombs.

Duke: You know all there is to know about fighting, so there’s no sense going that same old road again. To beat this guy, you need speed, you don’t have it. And your knees can’t take the pounding, so hard running is out. And you got arthritis in your neck, and you’ve got calcium deposits on most of your joints, so sparring is out.

• Paulie:  I had that problem.
• Duke: So, what we’ll be calling on is good ol’ fashion blunt force trauma. Horsepower. Heavy duty, cast iron, piledriving punches that will have to hurt so much they’ll rattle his ancestors. Every time you hit him with a shot, it’s gotta feel like he tried kissing the express train. Yeah! Let’s start building some hurtin’ bombs.

Mason “the line” Dixon (to Rocky): You one crazy old man.

• Rocky: You’ll get there.

Rocky Balboa: What’s so crazy about standing toe to toe with someone saying “I am”?

Rocky Balboa: Hey you champ. Aren’t you a little scared?

• Dixon: I don’t get scared.
• Rocky: You know, I think you try harder when you’re scared…. That’s when it’s worked best for me.

Rocky Balboa: Come on Paulie, we’re about to serve the special.

• Paulie: Italian food made by Mexicans ain’t that special.

Rocky Jr.: You cast a big shadow.

Rocky Balboa: Lotta people come to Vegas to lose, I didn’t

Rocky Balboa:  Yo, Adrian.. we did it.

Martin: The only kind of respect that matters is self respect.

Rocky: I feel like a kangaroo, all this stuff in my pocket.

Rocky Jr. : Don’t take any more chances out there than you have to. There’s nothing more to prove, Pop! There’s nothing more to prove!

• Rocky Balboa: I gotta go out the way I gotta go out.

Marie: The last thing to age on somebody is their heart.

Rocky Balboa: (to ESPN Commentator) Hi, how ya doing?

• ESPN Commentator: Wow, Rocky Balboa said hi to me, I watched Rocky when I was a kid, I never thought that I would commentate one of his fights!

Rocky Jr.: Don’t you think you’re a little, you know, old?

Rocky Balboa: Ya know they always say if you live in one place long enough, you are that place.

• Paulie: I ain’t no talking building Rock!

Paulie (referring to Punchy the dog): What an ugly dog!

This Rocky V film was not my favorite rocky movie when it was first released, over the years I watched it a couple of times and every time I saw it it got better, It’s really not as bad as everyone said it was. This movie also produced great quotes, memorable and inspiring quotes just as good as the ones produced in the previous rocky films. I hope you enjoy them!

Rocky Balboa: I’ve got to fight, ok. I’ve got a problem. I’ve got to fight.

Paulie (referring to Tommy Gunn): He stinks of opportunity, Rock.

Merlin Sheets: Tommy, you’re in his shadow. I don’t know if there’s any way out.

• Tommy (says to Duke): This is your own man talkin’!

Merlin Sheets: Rock, ya know, George would like you to consider putting on those damn gloves again. It’s a helluva payday.

• Rocky Balboa: Well, ya know, I’m officially expired.
• George W. Duke: No, you do have marquee value. You put butts in the bucket, asses in the seats. A businessman, with any sort of brain, don’t retire when he can still pull in the bread, baby.

Tommy Gunn: Anytime. anyplace, anywhere!

Adrian: He’s done, he’s done fighting!

• Duke: You a damned fool! Maybe we ought to sign Mrs. Balboa to fight Cane, huh? Looks like she’s the only one with the cojones in this family.

Duke: It’s like your Mark Twain once said, “Virtue has never been as respectable as money.”

• Paulie: Who’s Twain?
• Rocky Balboa: He was a Painter.

George W. Duke: Time to put some hustle behind this muscle.

Rocky: Yo Tommy Gunn, you got great gums!

Tommy Gunn: I’m nobody’s puppet! Nobody’s Boy!

Rocky Balboa Jr.: You remember how you were telling me all about deceptions and to watch out for them?

• Rocky: Yeah.
• Rocky Jr.: You’re the one that should have watched out.

Duke: As long as they’ve got Balboa on the brain he’ll always be champ. The man fought wars in the ring!

George W. Duke: God damn! Only in America!

Tommy Gunn: I’m not gunna know you down this time! I’m gunna put you through the street!

Adrian: All those beatings you took in the ring, I took them with you! I know how you feel! I know when somebody like tommy comes along, you feel alive. But he’s not you, he doesn’t have your heart! All those fighters you beat, you beat them with heart, not muscle. That’s what Mickey knew, that’s why Mickey and you were special. But Mickey’s dead! If there’s something that you want to pass on, pass it on to your son! For God’s sakes, your son is lost! He needs you! I know Tommy makes you feel great, he makes you feel like you’re winning again. but you’re losing us! Rocky, you’re losing your family!

Mickey: Get up you son of a bitch! ‘Cause Mickey loves you!

George W. Duke (to Rocky): C’mon, pug. Touch me, i’ll sue you.

• Rocky (after uppercutting Duke): Sue me for what?

Tommy Gunn: Why don’t you become my manager?

• Rocky Balboa: Manager? I ain’t never been manager! The gentleman who owned this place was a manager! But me I was always the managed…. guy.

Tommy Gunn: You don’t own me! You don’t own me! Nobody does! I want my respect!

• Rocky Balboa: Well come and get it!
